Just Me!!
Ok, so I was asked to list a few weird things about myself that no one really knows about me for the sake of getting to know the weird Candice. So here goes:
1. Something sorta unusal was that my grandmother (my mom's mom) rasied me till I was about 3 years old. I hardly ever saw my own mom because she worked during the week and some weekends, and as for my dad I only saw him a few times cus he spent time with his other daugther from another marriage on the weekends. Thus, my grandparents were known to me as Mama and Dada! This may have something to do with my feelings of people who let their parents raise their child. After we moved to Canada, my grandparents moved in with us and my grandmother died when I was six. After her death it took me a few years to get use to the idea that I had to call my biological mother Mom! I hated it and for a long time I couldnt understand why I had to call this woman mom when I knew that my "real" mother died! Yeah it is a bit weird, but this is only the beginning!
2. I had a childhood friend that thought she was a dog. She was obviously the outcasted person in our whole school of 400 kids. So I became her friend cus I found out she lived next door to me and thought that we could do homework together, then I realized that she was the homework type. So to help her get her homework done and mine as well I made a deal with her that we would play and then spend an hr on homework. That meant that I had to pretend to be a cat and we would play some weird game that we created from the Lion King and Homeward Bound! It was a weird time in my life as a cat! LOL
3. I like math, I didnt become good at math till I was in High School, but ever since then I like to solve problems. However, I refuse to do any math until I have a scientific calculator in my hand!
4. When I was about 13 my dad turned a larger part of our house into a school, where I soon became and employee. At first it was my job to help the younger kids to read and write after I got home from school. Then when I turned 14 my dad started to pay me to work with the older kids.. and by older I mean kids my age and up! It was horrible, they called me names and didnt do their work and got me into alot of trouble. I quit about 7 time altogether but I finally stopped working there a week before I came to the USA. I swore to myself that I would never teach anyone again!
5. Ever since I could remember myself, I had this weird obsession about Mermaids... I guess coming from an island it is expected, but growing up my favorite movies were the Little Mermaid, Splash and they had this cute cartoon of Barbie playing a mermaid! Even now I still find myself looking at all the Mermaid websites and reading all the folklore about them, even though I know them by heart!
6. At the end of high school my friends and I had about a week of no classes and exams, It was just before graduation, so we all decided that we would all come to school on Friday and hang out, then spend the afternoon shopping downtown. When we arrived at school there was not much to do or talk about... it seemed like a bad itdea. Then one of my friends started asking all those hard questions about the future and I got the brilliant idea to 'design' the perfect guy. We came up with about 150 questions about this perfect guy starting from what he looked like to what undies he wore. That was a blast and helped to pass the time away. Before we knew it the day had ended and we were getting ready to go downtown. Everyone was more abitious than me in the 'college' area, I was the one in that class that was destined to get married first. I mean i wanted to go to colllege but I didnt know what I wanted to go to school for. Everyone else did though. They all threw away their lists and I kept mine. About a week after Jared and I got married I found this perfect guy list. Jared had a few of the same qualities, like beign LDS but that was it. But I am still happy that I found him!
So that is about all the weird stuff I thought about myself... Hopefully I dont freak you guys out!

No More Diapers!!!
Another great thing about this new year is Jamie wanting to use the potty. She has been watching Lizzy go for the past 8 mths and mommy too! Now she thinks that she is ready to start going on her own. About 2 days ago she actually did!! That was exciting because it finally became clear that I may not have to change any diapers until the baby got here! Jared decided that she shouldn't wear any diapers so that she could go the the potty more often.
I thought it was a stupid idea, simply because I delt with that theroy last year with Liz and I spent about two weeks in total cleaning up 'accidents'. I knew that it was too soon to let Jamie run around with no diapers on. It was only the first time that she ever used the potty, I knew she would have an accident. And she did, all over my kitchen floors and my very pale carpet! This wasn't a problem for Jared, as he was stuck on the couch with a bum knee so he couldnt help with the mess!
Since that night she hasnt used the potty, now she is too scared to have an accident all over again! So thanks to Jared Chase (the supposed Genius of potty training, who hasnt potty trained any children) my short lived dream of not having to change any diapers till the baby gets here is now smashed to bits!... But I did get some cute pics out of it!
MY KNEE!!!!!!
The year started off great, until last Saturday when Jared slipped on some ice at Levi's house and put his knee out. Since then he has been hobbling around the house and driving me crazy! However, the girls understand that daddy has an ouchy and they are both very sypathetic. The first night that Jared spent at home with his sore knee the girls ended up crawling into the couch and under the blankets to help keep daddy warm. Even though I told Jared that the girls shouldn't be close to his knee he insisted that they stay and keep him company while I became his personal 'go-fer'! Lucky me!
PINK IS THE NEW RED!!!
Okay, so the new year started off great. The girls went to bed early New Year's Eve and so did I. I wasn't up for watching the "Ball" drop again so I decided to clock in early. Then the first Sunday of the year went well. As Jared and I prepared to teach sunday school to the 14 year olds the girls got dressed up in their adorable pink dresses, from Uncle Marc and Aunt Leah! I absolutely loved the style of the one that Jamie is wearing. And the soft pink on Liz was great! This is how we started off the new year!

Our New Nursery
I told you guys that I would keep you updated on what's going on with everything and so far I am glad to say that I am not experiencing any nausea or pains in any way. That is great news for us seeing that the last time that I got pregnant I was on bed rest at around 4 mths. So everything seems to be going great. I can only hope that I dont have any problems down the road that would cause me to go back on bed rest.
So far with each day Jared seems to be getting more and more excited for the new baby, I am not so excited yet. I am still in a kind of denile... I had a bad experience last time like I said. But the exciteng new is that I am going to make an attempt to design or sew everything for the new nursery. That includes the crib sheet, quilt, bumpers and wall hangings... I knew what theme I wanted for the nursery before I found out that I was pregnant unfortunealty, they discontinued the like about a month ago. It was the Rosebud line. Basically it was baby pin, whit and mint green and evey rose or rosebud was embroeidered onto the sheets and stuff . It was really cute.
Now the nursery is going to have a similar theme but a little different. Instead of the Rosebud theme we are going to go with the English Rosebud theme. So instead of the baby pink or soft pink we are going to get a bright pink kinda like the color pink that is used for the picture above. It is close to the color of an orignal pink rose, with white and Hazelnut as well. I will send you pics of the colors so you get a general idea. But if for some strange reason we have a boy i will just switch out the pink for a forget- me -not blue. So in case you were wondering the whole nursery wont be done till the baby is here.
As for me, considering that I can barely sew a button on there is a good chance that I will still be working on it well after the baby gets here. So for all you sewing people out there maybe you can give me some advice on how to start the quilt.

Exciting News
Ok so I told most of you that I would be posting something really NEAT on our blog some time around the fouth of January. Well, seeing as most of you already know or found out in one way or the other I guess my hands are tied so I will let you in on the secret. We are expecting our third baby sometime soon. I know, I know, three kids seems like alot, but two kids are alot!! So what's one more right?!
Anyways, Jared and the girls are " super" excited about the new baby. I dont know if we are having a girl or a boy.I suspect that it is a girl, because the odds are against us, considering the only one in the family to have boys is Leah and we all know why. So now that we are expecting to have another little girl, I have already decided to name our baby (who is still a fetus) London "blank" Chase. Hopefully within the next 8 mths we would find a suitable name for her. I already have a few in mind like: Rose, Eve, Madison, Mercedes (like the cars), Gabrielle and Alex (short for Alexandria).
But let me know what you think or better yet give me some really cool names. We will keep everyone informed about our great news!
