Terrible Two's
Just over the past week Jamie has been exceptionally annoying, to the point where she spent most of the day going in and out of time-out. I somehow forgot the real reason why I didnt want more kids and then Jamie came into view and I was like " Oh...yeah! That's why" so now that I have finally put the kids to bed, which now adays is a 45 min process. I have some time to reflect on what it was like before with Elizabeth, and I honestly dont remember it being this bad. Ever.
So am I being dramatic because I now have two kids and I am pregnant with a cold or has my sweet Jamie turned into a demon again. I do however remember her being really fussy when she was a baby. I can only hope that it doesnt get worse. Jared being around somehow seems to make Jamie's tantrums last longer. Maybe because he spoils her... I mean LOVES her! When I spoke to my folks recently they said that my terrible two's werent so bad. Either they are being way to nice or they dont remember. And when do the terrible two's actually start because it seems like Jamie was born with it and we just barely got a few months break from it. But she just turned 3 a few weeks ago. I dont know. For the time being as long as I get ten minutes to myself sometime during the day then I can deal with the tantrums, if I dont then make way... because my temper tantrums are worse!

Poor David A!
I have to say that I am not an American Idol fan, but there is a soft spot in my heart for David A. It was quite the shock when they annonouced that David C. won as the next American Idol. I was definately betting on David A. I do admit that the last hour of the show was awsome, so much more than I expected!! Jared and I only started watching the show last night, just because everyone was making a big deal about the "David's" so we figured that we had nothing better to do and nothing else was on anyways so why not. Jared of course was cheering on David C. but I stayed true to the Utah ppl and stuck it out for David A.
However, I believe that neither was better than the other. It's kinda like chocolate and cheesecake. Sometimes your just in the mood for cheesecake!

Mother's Day
So this Mother's Day was the best so far. I didn't get breakfast in bed, or time to myself, or any big presents, I didnt even get a Happy Mother's Day from anyone other than my hubby! But it was the best. The night before I had the opportunity to go to a friends baby shower and found out that a couple of other close friends are expecting boys as well. It made me feel better that I wasnt the only one who is nervous about having a son. We chatted and had a great time with no kids and no husbands. Later that night Jared and a friend surprised us with pizza and cake that they made, and I didnt have to do the dishes! My favortie part! On our way home the kids were asleep and Jared and I had sometime to ourselves which hasnt happend in a few months.
The next day Jared let me sleep in till 10 am and took care of the girls while I rested. Later that day we went up to Little Cottonwood Canyons to take a relaxing hike. The girls did well on our hour long hike and didnt complain once. I was glad because it was too cold for the snakes to come out. Then we came home and Jared made dinner for the family and took care of the diaper changing for the evening. He even got me some chocolate!
I did get flowers earlier that week so there was no need to get me more on Mother's day, and I dont have anywhere to put them so it didnt matter. But altogether it was the best. I got time to myself, I spent a few hours with some friends, and I didnt have to change diapers for two days!!!
I hope next year I get some BBQ ribs thrown in with the deal.. now that is a real Mother's Day

It's so hard to imagine that just a few years ago this little girl was struggling to stay alive. I just recently finished her baby album of the first year of her life, and couldn't appreciate more the fact that she is in our lives. It would be hard to imagine her not here with us. She is energetic and happy almost all of the time and loves her sister to death! She spends alot of time singing to herself and dancing in her room when she thinks no one is watching. She is a great sleeper and I think she could sleep through a tornado if there ever was one!
Jamie definately has a personality that is completely different than Lizzy's. Even though she is always 'bouncing" around she is really not adventerous in anyway and has a hard time meeting new people and making friends. Jamie is also really quiet in public which is the opposite of her dad's personality and her sisters!
Jamie does however have a soft side for animals and stuffed animals, like her mom, she tends to carry several of her toys with her everywhere we go. So we got her a backpack that she could put her toys in and carry around with her. Jamie knows her colors well and her numbers but her favorite thing to do is sing the alphabet song... Jamie turned 3 years on April 17th 2008. We never thought we would make it this far, and we cant wait for the next 3 years of surprises that this little angel has in store for us.
Spring Are You There?
The weather in Utah has proven to be a difficult one to predict, at times it is almost like living in St. Louis again, except for the humidity on hot days. Yesterday we started with a nice warm day of about 75- 80 degrees and within the hour went down to the late 30's and earl 40's with snow. It gets really hard to enjoy the pretty flowers and the nice sunshine when it snows every other day.
On one of our lucky warm days when the temp was in the 80's were were able to celebrate a late birthday for Jamie by going downtown to get some great pics of all three girls ( including Aubie) with the pretty tulips. We also had some homemade chocolate cupcakes for her little party. Unfortuneatly we didnt bargin on the wind gusts of 60 mph! We were lucky that we didnt get blown onto the roads! But all together it was a great day and we got some really amazing pictures of the flowers and the girls. I think next year we will just go to an indoor swimming pool or something! We are now just awaiting the end of spring and hopefully a warmer summer here in the desert!
Expecting the Unexpected!
Well, recently in the last month or so we found out without a doubt that we are going to have a boy! Jared is so excited and has made all necessary arragement for his new son! I have had what is deemed in my opinion a "normal" pregnancy...All the morning sickness is gone and I find myself having alot more energy than usual, even enough to go on little hikes up in the Canyons!
The girls are doing well with the idea of a baby brother but I don't think they understand what a baby brother is. Either way they are excited to feel the baby kick. With every ultrasound that we do it confirms the baby's boyhood... We thought it would be nice to prove to the world what gender he is so here is the pic. Enjoy.
