Take It Easy

So recently there was a really bad storm that came through bringing snow, rain and dropping temps to the lower 30's. After having a nice week with temps in the 70's this storm was disappointing to all Utahn's. We went to bed and I woke up around 3 am with intense lower back pain, not just any pain but the kind that makes it uncomfortable to sit or lie down or move. Along with this backpain I started to have contractions, they weren't strong but they were definately there! I woke Jared and told him what was happening, he started to get things ready to go to the hospital. As he was getting ready I noticed that the contraction were not getting stronger and the backpain wasnt either. I told him to just get me some Tylenol and we will see what happens. The back pain started to go away as well as the contractions, at least enough to go to sleep.

When we got up the next morning around 8am I was still having contractions at least 4 every hour and the back pain seemed to want to hang around. We didnt want to go to the hospital only to be sent home because of nothing so I called my OB/GYN, he said come in and we will do an ultrasound to see what was the matter. I had to go in that day for a Hydroxy Projestrone shot anyways, luckily Jacob was there and said he would watch the girls for us. As we headed to the doctors Jared confessed that he was nervous that they would put me on bed rest. I agreed. That wasnt what I wanted right now.

They ran their tests and did the ultra sound and found out that I had dialated to 3 cm which isn't bad but isn't great either! The doc advised me to be a couch potatoe this week and he will check to see if I dialated anymore later on next week. So I did. I didn't like it and it wasn't easy to sit and do nothing especially with two toddlers. Finally our next appointment arrived and nothing had changed... "Great!" I thought the meds are working. The doc said that the contractions and back pain were probably the result of the storm. But he still wanted me to ' take it easy'. What is that suppose to mean? should I change diapers, or feed myself or what? I still dont know but so far my defination of 'taking it easy' means no chores. I still have to change diapers and go to the bathroom and feed myself and the girls too, but Jared takes care of the laundry, dishes, bathtime, garbage and even the cleaning. He is doing a great job.

The only bad thing about being on bed rest is not having much to do... I am literally bored out of my mind and I haven't set foot outside for the past 3 weeks. I have been trying to catch up on my scrapbooking seeing that the majority of it is sitting, also I started getting all the nursery decor done myself like painting furniture and stuff like that. So I do have projects but I am still pretty bored. And well rested at my 29th week.
